Daniel Gutierrez

My passion for helping people is second only to my compassion and the wellbeing of my customers/clients. I am an articulate, confident, and conscientious communicator with active listening skills. I have been working in sales for over 10 years and made the transition to the medical sales side four years ago. I started in device sales working in a large territory spanning from Tallahassee to Pensacola, and then once I moved down to Sarasota I started my own company dealing mainly in wound care products. About a year later my Father-in-law took a turn for the worse, he had to move in with us and we became his care givers. It was our experience with taking care of him that peeked my interest in home health care. My sales back ground along with my new found passion for helping people has driven me to excel in the home healthcare field and I look forward to seeing where my career will go. 

I started my sales background working as an Admissions Advisor for an online college. My responsibility was to manage a large population of potential students. I had to educate them on which program would be best suited to there needs and help them in the enrollment process. I did this for 10 years.

Then after going back to school myself I started my career in medical sales. I had always wanted to get into the medical field, and this seemed like a good fit for me. When I was living up in the Florida panhandle I started selling for a company the that concentrated on DME products and some wound care items. I handled a territory that spanned 300 miles, from Tallahassee to Pensacola. It was a lot of driving but I was able to make it work. 

About 2 years ago my family and I moved own to Sarasota and shortly after that I decided to start my own distributorship selling the wound care products that I was carrying to the doctors in the area.  The company that was manufactuing my products stopped making them so I needed to move into a different direction. It was at that time that I discovered home health care. At the beginning of this year my wife and I had to take in her father and became his full time care givers, this drew me to home health health care even more and then I was able to start working for Empath Home Health, where I work now. I love the interactions that I'm having with the patients, doctors, and staff.  

I first went to collage out of HS and attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where I studied Biology. 

Later in life I went back to school and got my business degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham.

I then attended Medical Sales College, a 12 week intensive course that teaches how to present and sell products in the medical field.

I am also currently studying to get my insurance license in Florida.
