Cynthia Oliveira Souza is a 2nd generation Brazilian-American born in Framingham, Massachusetts From a young age, Cynthia was encouraged by her parents to pursue her creative endeavors. Often they struggled financially but Cynthia's parents would always surprise her with gifts that would benefit her dreams of working in film such as cameras gears, software lessons, and art materials. Cynthia enjoys crocheting, reading, writing, listening to and playing music, animating, painting, editing, and researching. Cynthia graduated from Roger Williams University with a BA in Visual Arts and a minor in both Film Studies and Theatre. Since graduation, she has focused her efforts on working behind the camera as crew in order to learn more about the filmmaking process.
Experience
Worked on 15+ feature films in the past few years. I have been in various departments such as 1st camera assistant, 2nd camera assistant, DIT, Editor, VFX artist, Production, and wardrobe. Outside of film, I have worked as an intern secretary for the late state representative of Massachusetts Christopher Walsh, as a secretary for Height Precision Construction, and have held various other retail positions like Lululemon, Urban Outfitters, and Forever 21. I not only have industry experience but also have computer literacy and am proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, and other similar programs. With my industry jobs and previous high school jobs, I have been able to foster many skills in many different departments. I have customer service skills, patience, and great communication.
Education
I graduated from Roger Williams University with a BA in Visual Arts, and a double minor in Film Studies & Theatre. I also graduated with Cum Laude.
