Operations Management and Maintenance

  • Oversee all aspects of a building's functionality, maintenance and security, ensuring the safety and suitability of the space for occupants by managing tasks like cleaning, security, repairs, building systems, and space planning, and coordinating with contractors to address maintenance needs.

Contractor and Project Coordination

  • Controls RFP’s and reports to the directors for discussion and approval.
  • Ability to solicit and analyze bids and work effectively with various contractors. 
  • Skilled at vetting new potential contractors and developing positive working relationships.
  • Supervises and inspects, evaluates work performed by contractors.
  • Represents the directors in working with contractors and architects on construction projects.
  • Supervises/controls all services contracted out for grounds maintenance and snow removal.
  • Create detailed project budgets and track expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or budget.
  • Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction and maintenance-related projects.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with local regulations, building codes, OSHA and safety.

Purchasing and Project Financial Management

  • Purchasing agent that maintains controls for all materials and contractual services for the facility via a bid process and shopping best price                                                                                                             
  • Seeks bids, reviews RFPs/bids, negotiates contracts for all services for the buildings.
  • Monitor and control costs, identify and address budget variances.

8/2019 to present- Facilities/Maintenance Director, Purchasing Chatfield School

  • Meet with contractors to assure the scope of the project is properly identified as well as related timeframes and scheduling requirements.
  • Develop preventative maintenance plans and building management for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevator, roofing, parking lot, property and landscaping contractors. 
  • Coordinate activities of the custodial/cleaning crew (materials and supplies needed, director staff regarding special projects or needed areas of attention).
  • Perform daily maintenance activities as needed including cleanup, lunchroom duties, repairing plumbing and electrical issues, repairing furniture, coordinating snow removal.
  • Responsible for assuring standards for the building are code compliant.
  • Collaborate with the principal directors on fire/smoke/security protocols and advise directors on proposal estimates via the bid system and what fits best for the school. Responsible for communication and maintains relationship management with external contractors and assuring work to be done in a timely fashion to keep school operating normally.
  • Seek out bids on various building projects, analyze the bids, and make recommendations.
  • Responsible for identifying risk management issues and making recommendations.
  • Since January, 2022, also served as Purchasing Agent.Responsibilities include researching and comparing suppliers, making purchasing recommendations, monitoring the status of orders, and developing policy for goods and services that pertain to the school’s needs.
  • Monitor building operational inventory, determine needs, and seek/negotiate bids.
