Corey Briscoe

As the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer for a sustainable micromobility startup company, I learned rapidly through my own experience about the technologies that enable organizations to succeed. Of the aspects in which I've had both formal and ad-hoc experience -- communication with stakeholders, full-stack software suites, value proposition and use-case analysis, etc. -- team-based software development is where my passion lies.

I am a competitive, logical, forward-thinking and detail-oriented problem solver who loves to help others, improve myself, and collaborate with other inquisitive individuals to push today's boundaries and envision progressive solutions.

Alongside my experience in software engineering, I am an entrepreneur. I co-founded a startup, Haven Transportation (formerly Parkie), in late summer 2021 with talented peers of mine. Serving as Chief Technical Officer for the company, I took charge on implementing technical solutions towards a sustainable micro-mobility platform that works with, not against, American municipalities. In particular, my time was spent conducting iterative meetings with our planned products' stakeholders, such as the offices of the Mayor of Bloomington and the Director of Parking Operations at IU Bloomington, and shifting platform specifications accordingly in pursuit of a municipal contract.

In the pursuit of my Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, I studied topics like distributed systems, organizational informatics, and information technology pedagogy, working alongside peers and professors on related projects using the frameworks and philosophies employed to solve these problems in the real world. Meanwhile, I exercised leadership as Lead Associate Instructor for C212 Intro to Software Systems, the college's intermediate computer science course, as well as student body outreach as a Male Ally for our chapter of Women in Computing under the Luddy Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
