Choongsung Yoo

At Texas A&M University, I am enrolled in the Exercise Science, Physiology, and Exercise Nutrition programs. The expected time frame of my doctoral degree completion is the summer of 2024. 

Since 2019, I have been employed as a research assistant at Texas A&M University's Exercise Sport Nutrition Laboratory. I have acquired a number of methodological techniques for human research in sport science and coordinated a number of studies. In addition, I instruct laboratory courses in exercise biomechanics for undergraduates. I have been an educator since the spring semester of 2022.

During my master's program, I investigated exercise nutrition from the perspective of health promotion and exercise science with an emphasis on animal studies. The focus of my thesis was the relationship between lactate supplementation and fat oxidation. I then made the decision to relocate to the United States in order to increase my opportunities in human research. I had the privilege of studying exercise science under the supervision of distinguished faculty members and also directed my own research. Consequently, I was capable of engaging in conversation with my participants regarding their health concerns in the context of our research endeavor. Additionally, the impact of fucoxanthin on the cognitive function of elderly individuals experiencing moderate cognitive decline is the subject of my dissertation.
