I am one of a growing number of women ordained as Orthodox Jewish Rabbis recognized and working as pastoral care givers, educators community leaders and authorities on Jewish law. I am also the only openly lgbtq identified woman to be so ordained. I have trained and worked for the past five years as a hospice and hospital chaplain. I am interested in building opportunities to practice pastoral care independently, rather than within a hospital setting. As a hospital chaplain, I specialized in emergency and acute care settings. I am active in interfaith conversations and spaces. I believe that chaplaincy, as currently practiced in healthcare settings is stunted and withering. I’m interested in building independent institutions build around the practice of interfaith chaplaincy. I have a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell and I will begin gan MBA program at the University of Maryland in April.
