Benjamin Yates

At the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, I have learned how to use social media in several different formats; including Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and more. Through school work, I have become a beat writer and videographer for high school sports and a radio show host of two different shows/podcasts that go out on live air. I have run a couple of YouTube channels and Tik Tok accounts that produce constant content for hundreds of viewers.

Professionally, I have started freelancing for the East Valley Tribune, writing stories about other high school sports in the East Valley area. A particularly fun one was the AIA Boy's Volleyball Championship for both the 5A and 6A divisions.

I am going into my senior year of college at Arizona State, which will be my final year of Cronkite, where I will be a part of the Sports Bureau, a professional program, and an intern at AZ Central, on top of two clubs that allow me to be a beat reporter on the ASU basketball teams and a play by play host for ASU Athletics.
