Ayaka Uriu (Amélie)

I am a designer with strengths in strategy building and business model development. My career before design was in banking with a focus on corporate banking, talent development, diversity promotion, and
cross-border institutional business. I am seeking a design internship to further develop my knowledge and gain experience in the field.

My 9 years of experience working for one of the largest banks in Japan, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, has equipped me with strong leadership, project management, and global business foundations. Through my work, I have developed an understanding of various industries and their organizational perspectives, having served the world's top financial institutions as my clients. Additionally, I have contributed to supporting talent growth by providing training programs and promoting new working styles for organizational growth. I have conducted numerous workshops and training sessions, honing my facilitation skills.

I am a second-year Master of Design student focusing on design/innovation strategy and sustainable design, and I am adept at providing innovative strategies for projects. Having worked on multiple projects with partners such as United Airlines, Fjord, and the Design Museum of Chicago, I have practiced the design process, including conducting contextual inquiries and observations, problem framing, journey mapping, and data-driven approaches.
