Ashlee Elliott

My name is Ashlee Elliott and I am creatively minded and buckle down on hard work and time management. I am a student at Belmont University studying in fashion design with an emphasis in sustainable fashion. Once I graduate, I plan to work with companies to improve their sustainability in designs by working with the creative and tech teams. 

I have much experience with working in retail, as I have worked with a small business, Bauman‘s and Company as a seasonal retail associate for the past four years and a sales employee at the BruinShop for the past year. Summer 2023, I interned for a theater company in Iowa, TCR, as a costume intern helping design and style costumes for the characters in the show. I also have experience working on costume crew and completing alterations when needed. Along with designing t-shirts for fundraisers and clubs. 

A hobby that I love to do besides sewing, is dancing. I have been dancing for about 15 years now And still dance to this day in the Belmont Dance Company. Because of my love for dance, I have also taught it to 3-8 years olds for about three years. 

Through my years of working and gaining experience, I have learned many communication skills, customer service expertise, troubleshooting awareness, teamwork capability, and creativity skillfulness. 

Retail Associate - Bauman’s and Company, Mount Vernon, IA - 2020 - Present

• Work the floor as a sales associate and assist others
• Run the cash register to process sales and returns (Lightspeed POS system) 
• Assist with inventory and restock clothing
• Create and plan out social media posts and notifications for the business’s Facebook and Instagram pages
• Assist with suit, shirt, and pant measurements along with alterations
• Complete store cleaning as needed
• Complete many other tasks as requested by my supervisors 

Retail Associate /Student Worker - BruinShop, Nashville, TN, Belmont University - 2023 - Present

Internship - Costume Intern, Theater Cedar Rapids - June-July 2023

• Interned for the show Rock of Ages 
• Completes and sent in illustrations pertaining to the show to the costume coordinator 
• Found pieces for the show online because it was a buy heavy show for the company 
• Coordinated various alterations, distressing, painting, sewing, and decorated that needed to be done for the costumes
• Partook in various meetings and activities for the costume department
• Volunteed in costume crew for the show to tackle care of the costumes, helped the actors during quick changes, and kept the costumes in check during the shows

I am a second year student at Belmont University studying fashion design earning my BFA.
