Arlene Castro- Toscano

I’m a very determined person who strives to do better and learn new things everyday. I am currently working on my associates degree in Fire Technology and on a journey to become a Paramedic.  Outside of school and careers,  I enjoy the outdoors and hiking. I’m very family oriented and I love my pets, so I try to go on family trips and bring my pets along when I can. Some hobbies of mine are playing guitar, cooking, going to zumba classes and crossfit classes.

Simi Valley High School, Simi Valley — High School Diploma August 2019 - June 2022

Throughout my time in High School I was a leader for a section of the marching band for two years,  meanwhile taking Advanced classes.

Charter College, Oxnard — Veterinary Assistant Certification  July 2023 - May 2024

Throughout this program I learned valuable information about how to care for animals in emergencies and non emergencies. I had hours of hands-on experience, which led to me getting a job in the field. 

Oxnard College EMT Academy, Camarillo August 2024 - December 2024 

Throughout this academy I have managed to learn many life saving skills and continue to do so. I was also exposed to hands-on experience in the field. 

Oxnard College WIldland Fire Academy, Camarillo 

January 2025 - March 2025 

Throughout this Academy I gained many skills and knowledge about Wildland Firefighting. I also learned about leadership, and a deeper meaning of teamwork. Additionally, I received a total of seventeen certifications, all of which taught me valuable skills and lessons which can be used in the fire service and in the field.
