Experience
My experience includes working with large organizations like 7-Eleven, Republic National Distributing Company, and Dallas Area Rapid Transit, where I was responsible for daily administration of all benefit programs. Provided support to internal clients and external clients in the areas of health and welfare, defined benefit, and defined contribution retirement plans
• Prepared and maintained files related to employee services• Assisted in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and complex projects supporting the Human Capital programs and functions
• Led project with Unum creating an interface streamlining the Life Insurance enrollment and eligibility process. Abandoned manual processes, became paperless, and fully automated the Guaranteed Issue enrollment, EOI processing, and age reduction benefits. I reconciled data weekly and sent to Unum via EDI file feed.
• Reconciled and audited various data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and control measures maintained
• Conducted Open Enrollment, new hire orientation, and employee workshops, and educated employees about all insurance plans and related benefits programs available
• Developed and conducted surveys and/or research on a variety of Human Capital issues
• Performed weekly/monthly audits of HRIS benefit records to ensure the accuracy of employee premium deductions, plan eligibility, participation, calculations, formulas, and data interfaces transmitted to vendors and carriers
• Spearheaded successful employee engagement and communication marketing campaigns
• Acted as a liaison with carriers, vendors, and consultants on benefits administration matters, such as eligibility, claims, family status changes, or escalated employee/member issues, working to resolution promptly
• Coordinated and processed new hire benefits enrollment, retiree and pension plan enrollees, family status changes, life insurance EOI, and claims
• Responsible for preparing, processing, and maintaining files related to Qualified Medical Child Support Orders and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QMCSOs/QDROs)
• Acted as a resource to management by assisting with the implementation of new/current benefit plans, policies and procedures, and related programs
• Advised employees and managers regarding benefits processes and ensured that proper documentation was received, recorded, and communicated to employees and appropriate personnel
• Communicated with vendors to ensure complex employee eligibility concerns/complaints were resolved in a timely and equitable manner within the guidelines of the plans
• Performed individual pre/post-retirement counseling on available options with employees providing all necessary paperwork including projected pension benefit estimates.
• Assisting and advising active employees on retirement preparation and retirement income planning.
• Completing all necessary processes for reclassification of employees from active to retired.
• Perform other duties as assigned
