I’ve been with FedEx express since 07/18/2018, and was with target for the 5 years prior!

At FedEx I’m responsible for a number of responsibilities.

1. I run the AM sort making sure our freight gets offloaded in a timely manner, also to make sure the freight is getting separated to the right routes.
2. I am in charge of making sure every piece of freight goes out on road and if it isn’t going to be for any reason it has the proper scans and stats on the packages.
3. I’m also a courier! I have a route in town I do deliveries and pick ups all while maintaining the customers and fedex’s commit times.
4. After I do my route the next step is running the PM sort, I separate documents into bags depending on where they’re going. Load up one of our box trucks with all of our out bound freight after that is all done all that’s left is taking care of the paper work. And that is also completed by me!
5. After everything is loaded and ready to go if they’re is any what we call “DG” (dangerous goods being shipped) it has to be inspected before leaving on the truck. I have to do a 6 sided check on the box and complete our dg checklist and put it in the BOL that there will be chemicals on the truck. Than after that I can finish the paper work for the truck print the BOL and it’s ready to leave.
6. And the last of my responsibilities include driving our freight to and from Vegas! So because of the holidays it’s been a little different the passed couple weeks but usually after I finish the paper work I drive the freight to McCarran airport unload it to our facility there and return home and that concludes my work day. Since the holidays have started I’ve actually switched my roles and have been going to the ramp in the morning instead to get our freight early instead of taking all of our outbound back.

Those are my basic everyday tasks and responsibilities. Of course there’s always change I’ve done every route this station has to offer, I have been training to take the whole station over as the station ops manager. I am the stations dangerous good specialist, safety team captain, and morning meeting lead. I have gotten employee of the month multiple times and a Bravo Zulu from the regions operating manager.
