As the Maintenance Director of Engineering for Courtyard Marriott, the primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the daily operations of the hotel’s engineering and maintenance department, ensuring the property remains in top condition for guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

Team Leadership & Management: Supervise and mentor the engineering team, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and development to meet operational goals.

Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and building structures to ensure operational efficiency and prevent downtime.

Facility Repairs & Improvements: Oversee and manage repairs and improvements to all physical assets, ensuring timely response to issues and minimizing disruption to guest services.

Budget & Resource Management: Manage departmental budget, monitor expenses, and control costs while ensuring the maintenance of high-quality standards.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including fire, health, and environmental standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with outside vendors and contractors for specialized services and larger repair projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality service delivery.

Guest Satisfaction: Work closely with other departments to address any guest concerns related to facilities, ensuring that the guest experience is consistently positive.

Energy Management: Implement and oversee energy-saving initiatives, focusing on sustainability and cost reductions without compromising the guest experience.

Emergency Response: Act as the primary point of contact for any emergencies (e.g., power outages, plumbing failures) and ensure that swift action is taken to resolve issues while minimizing guest disruption.
