Anthony Barragan

Hello! My name is Anthony Barragan and I am currently a student at DePaul University studying Computer Science. I also minor in Animation since I love to combine my passion with art with my passion in technology. I blame my middle school teacher for putting myself in this trajectory in my career since he too did combine the art of music with aspects of technology. If he was able to do it, so can I.

I love to talk about all things music related, which I do tend to get myself carried away in conversation. Though I am an introvert at heart, I love getting to know people and establish relationships along the way!

I was in Boy Scouts for most of my youth. I often volunteered at pancake breakfasts, the food pantry, and conservation projects. With volunteering experience, along with the leadership and other useful skills taught by earning the rank of Eagle Scout, I was able to get my first job. I started working at the Brookfield Zoo as a retail associate in 2021. Near the end of my first year working for them, I was given a promotion. Though I did not meet the age requirements for being a retail supervisor, my work ethic and reputation allowed me to achieve that position. I work for the Brookfield Zoo as a supervisor till this day.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude at my high school, J. Sterling Morton West High School, I started attending DePaul University. I decided to major in Computer Science with a focus in software engineering. In my second year at DePaul, I decided to add in a minor: Animation. I was also able to earn my spot in the Deans List every quarter while attending DePaul. I am currently a sophomore.
