Angel Gutierrez Mendoza

6 years in the sports/entertainment industry, I am passionate about helping communities, environments and individuals grow. I have good organizational, communication and am very eager to learn.

With over six years of experience in sports and entertainment, I have developed a strong foundation in live event execution, league operations, community engagement, and fan experience. I am eager to bring my hands-on background and passion for the game into a role that allows me to grow within an NBA organization and contribute at a deeper operational level.

My experience spans every layer of sports operations—from grassroots basketball to professional leagues. I currently serve as Director of Sport Operations and League Operations with The Shoe Surgeon, where I manage scheduling for multiple seasons, run live FIBA-certified statistics, code and operate league scoreboards, maintain player databases, oversee facility operations, and manage game-day logistics. I also developed and maintain the league website to ensure real-time access to schedules, scores, and analytics, helping increase league visibility and engagement.

In addition, I have spent several years with Veniceball and the Venice Women’s League in leadership roles across production, game-day operations, and talent coordination. My responsibilities include supervising event execution, overseeing scorer’s table operations, managing staff, coordinating talent and teams, and ensuring seamless tournament flow. As Tournament Director for the BIG3 Street Tournament, I led planning, team organization, scheduling, registration, and post-event reporting while delivering high-attendance, community-driven events.

My work with HOOPBUS has strengthened my commitment to community engagement through basketball, hosting youth clinics, supporting underserved neighborhoods, and managing activations across California. I have also supported professional environments directly, including my time as an Arena Host with the LA Clippers at Intuit Dome, where I contributed to world-class fan experience standards while gaining firsthand exposure to NBA venue operations.

Across all roles, I bring a strong work ethic, adaptability, leadership, and a deep respect for the culture of basketball. I am comfortable in fast-paced environments, trusted with responsibility, and motivated by growth. Most importantly, I am open, available, and eager to dedicate myself fully to an organization where I can continue building toward a long-term career in the NBA.
