Experience

Cooperatively established Wepaintedit.com, Inc; acquired all business licenses; professional analysis of business operations and budget over $200,000 annually; created all legally binding contracts for commercial vendors and residential customers; responsible for all marketing; payroll; accounts payable and receivable; human resource; compliant with all State and Federal Government regulations. Business licenses: By creating complex business structure, the company grew from a partnership to a corporation. Filed the Master Business Application to obtain a Unified Business Identifier and trade name. Budget functions: Based budgets on: • Sound organizational structure in which authority and responsibility were clearly defined. • Research and analyze new products, services, and operating techniques. Master Budget – created using programs like Quickbooks and Excel. • Operating Budgets • Financial Budgets By creating clear and concise reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly, semi annually and annually basis I gathered and analyzed data in order to draw logical conclusions and make informed decisions. Examples of these types of reports are as followed: • Sales Budget - derived from sales forecast. When developing the sales forecast, I considered multiple factors including: general economic conditions, industry trends, market research studies, anticipated advertising, and adjustments in prices. • Production Budget - amount of projects required to meet anticipated sales. Determined the professional and staff budgeted costs for direct labor, direct materials, and overhead. • Direct Materials Budget – quantity and cost of direct materials required to be purchased. Based on this information I was able to negotiate reduced prices for paint and materials. • Direct Labor Budget - quantity (hours) and cost of direct labor necessary to meet production requirements. • Budgeted Income Statement – expected profitability of operations and provided a basis for evaluating the company performance. • Cash Budget - anticipated cash flow. • Budget Balance Sheet – developed the balance sheet for the preceding fiscal year and the budgets for the current fiscal year. After creating, reviewing, analyzing, and managing the master budget and management plan, I was able to determine the company's staffing needs and had sole discretion to act. Furthermore, the benefits of the management plan provided for sound decisions, provided definite objectives for evaluating performance, created an early warning system for potential problems, and gave management awareness of overall operations. Contracts and Marketing: Solely prepared and negotiated all written estimates to potential customers. Upon recognition of delayed estimates for potential commercial and residential customers, I created a customized brochure to provide a free written estimate and increase the customer base. By streamlining the estimates of labor and material costs, I was able to provide an average of ten (10) estimates per week and increase the business by 120%. I made all final decisions regarding business operations. Met daily with all active job site Foreman to discuss time frame, budget, and labor needs. I was solely responsible for providing administrative support to the business and all human resource duties. When a job site was understaffed, I performed all duties required in the trade of painter, following recognized procedures and techniques for such work. State and Federal Government Laws: I procured permits, equipment, and staff to complete contractual agreements. Acquired environmental permits from the Department of Ecology when projects were likely to discharge hazardous material in the air, such as lead paint removal. The company adhered to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. For example, using airline respirators when mixing solvent or spraying, ladder safety to ensure support load and clear distance was met, and met fall protection system criteria and practices. In addition, the company complied with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regarding employee pay, work hours and work conditions. The company adhered to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) reporting requirements. Administered and submitted all companies accounting information including semimonthly payroll, tax reports and quarterly reports. Applied Washington State taxes to contracts specific to location through the Geographic Information System. Prepared Business and Occupation Tax – based on gross sales applied for small business tax credits. Collected state sale tax at the time of each sale. Reported an Excise Tax and returned it to the Department of Revenue quarterly. Obtain Federal Employer Identification Number and prepare and pay Federal Income Tax. Followed regulations for hiring employees by registering with the State Department of Labor and Industries, the Employment Security Department, and the IRS. Paid into the State Unemployment Insurance and Industrial Insurance (Workers' Compensation). Completed over three hundred fifty (350) contractual agreements with varied deadlines, average thirty-five (35) annually. Overall Duties Summary Managed multiple job locations, commercial and residential. Responsible for ordered materials, scheduling labor, drawing up and submitting contracts, invoices and receipts. Responsible for purchasing equipment and maintenance and repair for established equipment.
