AmyMarie Jones

I am a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Technology student, with a drive for technology and electrical engineering. My passion in this field stems from my sit-ins with graduate students, at Old Dominion University, demonstrating and refining their mechanical engineering oriented projects. I've learned just how versatile and effective robotics projects can be with the right creative thinking. I attribute my out of the box perspective to my military upbringing (with both my parents having graduated from the Naval Academy). As a side effect of being a military brat, I have lived in Japan and many places within the U.S.. I have even been able to retain my Japanese speaking abilities.

• International Electronic Machines Corporation January 2023- Present (Engineering Lab Assistant)

I do administrative and technical tasks that I would receive for the day. This would include writing code, creating prototypes, using excel for spreadsheet data, and cleaning up storage space. An example of a program I created would include creating python code that would collect and gather weather data via an API which would run after a certain amount of time throughout the day.

• Mathnasium January 2022- June 2022 (Math Instructor)

I would help children across different grades with their incoming math homework and given bookwork from Mathnasium itself. I would be in charge of several kids at the same time; with some being online and others being in person. Due to this consistent source of stress, I had to learn how to work under fire from multiple directions, while keeping a calm mindset. I also had to learn how to manage people while monitoring and addressing their progress.

Pursuing Electrical Engineering Degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Technology with a minor in computer systems and engineering.

Completed Altium Professional Printed Circuit Board Design Training and received a Professional license.
