Amy Cunningham

I have taught for 22 years with experience in Kindergarten, first grade, second grade (summer school), fourth grade (math/science), fifth grade, seventh and eighth grade (pre-algebra), and preschoolers. I’ve taught in five states and have a wide knowledge of curriculum and methods of teaching.  My husband and I have three children and I love being a mom and teacher to them as well. I believe ALL children are capable learners, one just has to find the key to unlock the mind and make learning fun.

I went to Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, which prepared me for teaching, but I truly believe all my years of teaching are my best experiences. I have taught in five states, taught in the Appalachian Mountains and center city Columbia, South Carolina. I taught in very wealthy areas and very poor areas. I was nominated to be Teacher of the Year three times and won once. One may hold a teaching degree from Harvard, but nothing compares to having life experiences in the teaching world. I value every single one I have been blessed with. 

I also explain this answer in the next question, but my 22 years of experience teaching is my most relevant education. I learned so much from each place I taught to every grade I taught. I constantly experienced different teaching techniques. Every job was a learning experience and a gift.
