I graduated as a salutatorian from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry and a minor in mathematics. I have both laboratory research and clinical experience, and I am hoping to integrate these two in a clinical research setting.

● Worked virtually under the mentorship of researcher Dr. Kiyohito Taimatsu in the Weinstein lab in the NICHD division of the National Institutes of Health
● Studied embryonic organogenesis in zebrafish
● Learned about various cell-labeling techniques including Brainbow, in-situ hybridization, transgenic lines with green fluorescent protein, and other analytical techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing, angiography, etc.
● Used bioinformatic tools such as ZFIN.org and the UCSC Cell Browser to determine specific cell marker genes for the development of the pharynx in zebrafish embryos
● Generated a list of specific cell marker genes for pharyngeal development in zebrafish
● Constructed and presented a research poster and presented it at the virtual NIH poster day
● Is completing a second summer of in-person research in the same laboratory
