About Amandalyria Henley:
With over 18 years of nursing experience—more than 10 of those in critical care—I bring a strong commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional growth.
Throughout my career, I have worked across a wide range of healthcare settings, including behavioral health, home health, and correctional facilities. This diverse experience has equipped me with a well-rounded understanding of patients’ needs and the ability to adapt effectively in high-pressure environments.
I currently hold certifications in ACLS, BLS, CCRN, and CPI, and I am continually seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills to remain at the forefront of nursing practice.
I am a dedicated, motivated nursing professional with a deep passion for delivering high-quality care. In every role, I welcome the opportunity to contribute my experience, energy, and commitment to excellence.
Experience
For the past 6.5 years, I have been employed with the Veterans Administration as a Critical Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse, where my responsibilities have extended across multiple departments, including the Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) units. This role has allowed me to develop a strong foundation in acute care, patient assessment, and crisis response. In addition to my current position, I have previous experience as a Behavioral Health RN with the Alabama Department of Mental Health in Tuscaloosa, where I provided care for patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. I have also worked in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting at Noland Health, further broadening my clinical expertise in managing patients with complex, chronic health issues.
Education
I began my academic journey at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama, where I earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in May 2006 with a GPA of 2.6 on a 4.0 scale. I continued my education at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where I completed a Bachelor’s degree in July 2022, earning 135 semester hours with a GPA of 3.068. Most recently, I pursued a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration at the same university through an accelerated program, graduating in December 2023 with a GPA of 3.51 on a 4.0 scale. These academic achievements reflect my commitment to lifelong learning and my progression in the field of nursing and healthcare leadership.
