Alyssa Pelayo

I was born in California, however, I grew up in Hong Kong. I graduated from boarding school in Simsbury, Connecticut, but I now live in the Pacific Northwest and attend college in California studying Animal Science at California Polytechnic SLO. Where I've consistently been on the Dean's List. Based on strong academics and a desire to continue learning, I am considering furthering my education and applying to veterinary school. To continue on my language learning that I started in Hong Kong I am in process of completing my minor in Mandarin. I can confidently say I’ve experienced and learned from a wealth of cultures both abroad and at home. I’ve been successful in many of my academic and community oriented endeavors, such as earning my Girl Scout Gold Award, working within the LLEAP program to create exoskeletons to assist paralysis patients in walking and volunteering with Cal Poly to give basic medical care to the pets of homeless and impoverished members of the San Luis Obispo community.
