Alexis Orrick

I recently completed a Masters in Applied Social Data Science at the London School of Economics and currently looking for data analyst / scientist related work in my home state of California. I have skills in data mining, machine learning, quantitative text analysis, and natural language processing. My previous work experience of 3 years involved data collection, evaluation, and management. My primary coding languages are python and R, but I am interested in learning more. I am also in the process of completing an AI training program for coders to expand my knowledge of Artificial Intelligence systems.

Aside from my work in data, I enjoy latin dance, tennis, and playing music with my sisters.

My most relevant experience comes from my work as a Data Evaluation Admin Assistant with Family Health Centers of San Diego. I was responsible for analyzing data and sending regular reports to higher management. Reports included data for insurance payments, medical assessments, as well as employee productivity. I primarily used Microsoft Office products and interacted with SQL databases to create reports.

My other experience is primarily data-related as I have worked for two professors as a quantitative and qualitative research assistant. In these jobs I used a range of data analysis tools including Python, Microsoft Office products, and Dedoose.

I also worked all four years of my bachelor's for a student government office where I ended up managing 20 employees to assist students accused of misconduct and represent students on student conduct policy boards. I helped 200+ individual students in this job and gained skills as a manager. I also worked with data as I designed and analyzed data from a survey for students who used our services. I presented this data regularly with school admin and within my office to evaluate our services.
