Alexandra Phongsamran

I am a multilinguist, an educator, and a creative. I have a B.A. in Spanish with a double-minor in Japanese and Russian. I have experience working with youth and adults in various education settings, including curriculum development, classroom management, and peer support. Additionally, I have experience in marketing, communications, and networking as a creative professional. Skilled in MS Office and Adobe.

I am seeking a position that allows me to utilize my language skills and work in an area around my passion of culture, language, and community. 

My recent work experience includes teaching English to classrooms of international adults from various countries, such as Saudi Arabia and China and has helped me to be very comfortable working with students of various backgrounds and ethnicities. Since we were working with various international school programs, each had to be tailored to meet each student’s educational needs.  I designed a specialized curriculum for my classroom, provided student evaluations and assessments, and advised students individually. My management experience includes classroom management, as well as being a respite residential manager. I also have experience working with youth in groups of about 30. I also have marketing experience that includes direct networking, website development, and maintenance, as well as MS Office proficiency.  

I am multilingual, being fluent in English and Spanish, with intermediate level Japanese, and basic level Russian capabilities as well.  I majored in Spanish, and minored in Russian and Japanese at the University of California, Riverside, because of my love of history, culture, and languages. I studied abroad in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan with full immersion in Japanese language. My language skills have made me fine tune my communication skills.
