During my internship at Rush University Medical Center-REACH in Chicago, IL (May 2023 - August 2023), I was responsible for ensuring the cybersecurity of web-based systems and protecting healthcare data. I conducted detailed assessments of web applications, checking for scalability and compliance with security standards. I used tools like Burp Suite to identify and analyze vulnerabilities. My role also involved applying my knowledge of EMR to develop and implement strong cybersecurity strategies. Alongside this, I provided user support, helping with workstation setup, software installations, and addressing basic IT inquiries, always prioritizing excellent customer service.

In my earlier role as an Application Security Intern at METI in Nagoya, Japan (August 2021 - December 2021), I took on the challenge of addressing critical application security vulnerabilities like SQL injection and insecure authentication. Leading a team of five, we successfully mitigated SQL injection, XSS, and authentication vulnerabilities. I conducted OWASP Top 10 vulnerability assessments and implemented CVSS-based security measures to enhance the applications' defenses. Collaborating with my team, we performed network reconnaissance and traffic analysis to identify and address weaknesses, resulting in a significant reduction in vulnerabilities and a twofold improvement in security.
