About Ahmed Farag:

As a brief introduction, I started my career back in 1995 working for Citibank N.A. Cooperate and Consumer Banking, for 11 years. Since then, I achieved a master's degree in Public Administration in 2002, then on to work in Egypt as Manager of the International Cooperation Sector for a Quasi-Governmental Institution (SFD - The Social Fund for Development) currently called (MSMEDA - Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency) for another 14 years. I have solid experience working with renown International Donors such as JICA - Japan International Cooperation Agency, previously known as JBIC - Japan Bank for International Cooperation, UNDP - United Nations Development Program in Egypt, African fund Development Bank AfDB, OFID - Opec Fund for International Development.  I have solid experience in working with Egyptian Government Ministries / Authorities. I speak and write Arabic fluently and I communicated in my previous field of work with executives working with the Gulf Funds such as the Saudi Development Fund and Kuwait Fund. I have managed and assisted in setting up and negotiating new projects with details of their components with International Donors, Government entities, and other stakeholders. I have full awareness of the Saudi Arabian ecosystem, culture, ambitions, and its development progress.  My experience provides me the advantage and opportunity to apply to the position of UN Resident Coordinator - Saudi Arabia. My knowledge of the SDG 2030 Agenda, and my enthusiasm for the service of sustaining peace is forevermore outstanding. 

Experience

In Development : Acted as key liaison and relationship manager between MSMEDA, government agencies, and International Development Donor Agencies including: The World Bank Group (WBG), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and African fund Development Bank (AfDB) Secured fundraising from International Donors for MSMEDA to continue carrying out its mission and mandate Managed the full process of project proposals and negotiations for loans and grants across all stages of cooperation Organized and managed Donor trips and missions Worked with diversified technical and other MSMEDA teams to enhance business development and funding process.

In Banking: Credit Officer, Citibank, Egypt, September 1995 - January 2002 Reviewed credit packages for corporate clients necessary for credit approvals Conducted presentations for higher management on credit risk assessment and stress testing results Participated and assisted in launching new risk assessment reports for new products.
