Expert in daily inventory ensuring no tools and or parts are missing or lost. Ensures tool inventory log is current and signed. Inspects toolboxes for any foreign objects, missing tools, and cleanliness. Ensures tools, and materials are properly marked, calibrated, maintained, stored, protected, and are secured when shop is left unattended. Maintains awareness of shop safety procedures and identifies unsafe practices. Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain complete security of premises. Patrolled the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Authors reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Contacts police and fire department in cases of emergency, or presence of unauthorized persons. Answers alarms and investigates disturbances. Trained and authorized to carry firearms to protect facility occupants as needed.

Responsible for overseeing and caring for detainees while ensuring that rules, policies, and procedures are applied fairly and safely. Was a member of the riot team. Trained in responding to riots using a variety of tools and tactics to de-escalate dangerous situations and maintain order. Monitors detainees in living recreation, dining, and visitation areas. Conducts shakedowns for contraband materials and confiscated prohibited items as per policies and procedures. Provides prompt and appropriate assistance to those who are injured, ill and or have suffered trauma.
