Description
Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) is a 10-bed intensive care unit (ICU) that provides care to critically ill stroke patients (both ischemic and hemorrhagic) and non-traumatic neurosurgery and neurology patients 18 years and older and serves as an overflow unit for medical patients.
Post-operative neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular surgery procedures and care provided include, but are not limited to: ICP monitoring, care post IV and/or IA tPA administration, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting procedures, craniotomy, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.
General Summary
Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital.
