    Hexcel is currently seeking a Safety Data Sheet Author located at one of the following US locations – Salt Lake City, UT, Decatur, AL, Casa Grande, AZ, Pottsville, PA, or Seguin, TX .

    The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Conduct hazard classification and author Safety Data Sheets to meet global regulatory standards (GHS) and country-specific regulations.
  • Compile extended Safety Data Sheets (eSDS) to meet requirements of REACh Regulation, Annex II.
  • Manage the issue and distribution of revised Safety Data Sheets. Manage customer ad-hoc requests for Safety Data Sheets. Become an expert user of Hexcel's SDS and H&S labelling software systems.
  • Develop regulatory content for multi-language health and safety labels.
  • Provide technical support to local production and R&T facilities to resolve H&S labelling issues.
  • Engage with suppliers to obtain and maintain regulatory and composition information for raw materials.
  • Maintain critical Product Safety information in the Company's ERP system and intranet site.
  • Follow formal management of change procedures when updating product safety documentation to reflect regulatory changes and amendments to raw material hazard classification.
  • Support training in the interpretation of hazard classification and Safety Data Sheet information and other related processes and programs. Conduct transport of hazardous goods classification for Hexcel's product range.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement projects implementing enhancements in Hexcel's hazard communication program and software systems.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in (Chemistry, Environmental Science, Health and Safety or equivalent), with experience in product regulatory affairs/stewardship.
  • Knowledge of GHS hazard classification, Safety Data Sheet compilation and H&S labelling/packaging requirements.
  • Qualifications to fulfil certification for Transport of Hazardous Goods Regulations for air, sea, and road.
  • General knowledge of REACh Regulation.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to design and deploy detailed plans.
  • Excellent communicator and experience of developing training materials.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of establishing/manipulation of databases and document management systems.
  • Able to work in a high energy, rewarding business with regulatory and stakeholder deadlines, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Functions well independently and is self-motivated. Works with minimum supervision.
