    Job Description

    Job DescriptionNYC Real Estate Management Company seeks an experienced Plumber for a portfolio of walk-up properties in Manhattan. The ideal candidate must be able to efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes. The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, gases, or hot liquids. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
    • Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. ruff-in, construction)
    • Modification of existing ruff-in
    • Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
    • Repair and replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, shower body, etc.
    • Light trouble shooting of domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines, dishwashers) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc.
    • Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (one-pipe steam and hydronic systems)
    • Weld or solder pipes and fitting together using various tools and techniques
    • Replace radiators
    • Handling and tracking of plumbing inventory
    • Respond to emergency plumbing calls as needed

    Skills
    • Proven experience as a plumber
    • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
    • Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential and commercial buildings
    • General knowledge of boilers
    • Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems
    • Knowledge of back flow preventer, RPG's and gas
    • Knowledge of pumps, shut-off valves, basic electric, and sprinkler system a plus
    • Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
    • Ability to interact with clients exhibiting professionalism and politeness
    • Must be proactive with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to trouble shoot issues effectively
    • Must be able to walk around and visually inspect premises, climb, stoop, bend, occasionally move or lift up to 50 pounds, stand and sit for long periods of time.
