    Description

    Position Title: Environmental Manager

    Position summary:

    Eagle Railcar Services is looking for a candidate with a strong background in air permit compliance and reporting and waste management. The primary purpose of the role is to oversee and coordinate compliance assurance programs for operations. This entails managing staff and resources to facilitate the identification of statutory and regulatory requirements as well as the development of programs to ensure compliance with those requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain all necessary environmental permits with a focus on air permits, orders, and other legal,
    • regulatory or customer requirements, including monitoring performance and recordkeeping against all permit conditions at company facilities.
    • Ensure all required regulatory and permit-required reports are accurately completed and submitted on time.
    • Manage and coordinate air permit renewals with third parties.
    • Manage and coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies, including follow up items and any necessary corrective actions.
    • Develop, conduct and/or assist with periodic regulatory compliance audits at company facilities.
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, advise operations of the
    • expected impact, and
    • adjust compliance programs to meet new/changing requirements.
    • Work closely with EHS and other operations employees.
    • Assist the Plant Managers with advocacy efforts associated with facility operations.
    • Work with counsel on compliance and enforcement issues.
    • Work with staff on operations modifications and installations to ensure environmental considerations are addressed.
    • Help train and supervise and serve as a resource to facility personnel with environmental responsibilities.

    Work Environment / Conditions and Physical Demands:

    • Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
    • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
    • Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces and/or at elevated heights.
    • Working around heavy moving equipment
    • Must be able to work at elevated heights.
    • Climb, squat, bend, and twist to accomplish work tasks.
    • Requires the use of a tight-fitting respirator; You must be appropriately cleanshaven per OSHA 29 CFR , at all times.

    Experience and Education:

    • BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, a closely related field, or equivalent
    • experience required.
    • Process or Engineering background (preferred).
    • Experience with clean air and waste regulations as well as developing and
    • implementation of environmental management systems is strongly preferred
