    Job Description

    The Internal Communications Protocol and Events Advisor plays a crucial role in the Internal Communications (IC) team at USAID's Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs, specifically within the Internal Events team. This position involves providing operational and functional support to coordinate events for various departments within the Agency. These events range from virtual panel discussions and in-person or virtual meetings with foreign officials to town halls and more.

    This is a full-time role based at the USAID offices in Washington, DC.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Establishes goals and strategies to enhance internal events support Agency-wide.
    • Evaluates past event data to suggest improvements in venue, technology, outreach, and post-event activities.
    • Provides event metrics to relevant entities and prepares reports for IC leadership.
    • Assists in organizing in-person and virtual events, collaborating with various teams across the Agency.
    • Manages all aspects of Agency events, from planning to execution and coordination.
    • Develops tracking systems for event details and creates SOPs for internal events.
    • Prepares after-action reports and maintains lessons learned for future reference.
    • Supports in event execution on the day, working with internal and external stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Must be able to obtain a Facility Access Clearance.
    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Minimum of five years experience in managing special events.
    • Proficiency in analyzing events data and generating reports.
    • Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.
    • Experience in protocol for internal events with government or international organizations.
