- Plan, coordinate, oversee, and inspect work activities of a moderate sized dietary staff to ensure work is completed efficiently, timely, and properly
- Oversee a major part of meal preparation for hospital patients, serving, and cleanup in the kitchen to ensure meals are ready on time, served correctly and cleanup is thorough
- Teaches new dietary staff the proper methods of volume food preparation and utilization of kitchen utensils to ensure job proficiency
- Order food supplies and complete inventory control to ensure products/ingredients are sufficiently supplied
- Cook vegetables and meats, carves and serves meats, and makes salads in order to prepare complete balanced meals and ensure portion control for hospital patients
- Oversee the cleaning of kitchen utensils and kitchen surfaces in order to maintain sanitary and cleanliness standards
- Plan, direct, oversee, and coordinate the work of dietary staff
