JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, and software.
Design resolutions to resolve RCA.
Order and set up solutions on machines.
Update and release drawings.
Support the manufacturing facility to rapidly resolve light fabrications quality and velocity issues.
Work on longer term engineering changes to improve quality and velocity.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Associates degree with 10+ years experience.
Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5-7 years experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
CAD modeling experience (PTC Creo preferred).
FEA experience (Creo Simulate preferred).
Cost modeling experience.
Design for manufacturing experience.
APQP experience.
Experience with GD&T (global dimension and tolerancing).
Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Experience in a factory environment/factory support.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
Microsoft experience (PPT, Word, Excel).
Time management skills.
Ability to individually maintain project status/individually manage projects.
Team player and detail oriented.
Experience collaborating with suppliers.
