    Position Overview: Lead Mosquito Control Technician

    As a Lead Mosquito Control Technician, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to protect families from mosquitoes and the diseases they carry. We're looking for individuals who are not just skilled in completing daily routes but are also driven by self-motivation and the pursuit of excellence. Your role extends to training, leading, coaching, and managing newer technicians, ensuring that they too share your commitment to achieving greatness.

    Qualifications for Success:

    • Legal resident of the United States, available for weekend work.
    • Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in reading and writing English, coupled with outstanding oral communication skills.
    • Ability to comprehend pesticide labels and follow detailed instructions.
    • Offers of employment contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record meeting insurance underwriting requirements for employees operating company vehicles.
    • Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds, performing tasks like bending, squatting, and walking with a backpack sprayer for extended periods.
    • Proficiency in basic principles, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations related to pesticide applications, including methods, equipment, chemicals, and safety measures.
    • Ability to calculate application mix ratios in accordance with pesticide labels.
    • Capability to identify environmental conditions suitable for pesticide applications.
    • Successful completion of the certified applicator exam offered by the State of Virginia.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the smooth execution of the daily work schedule, maintaining efficiency.
    • Conduct property inspections to identify pest issues, assess treatment requirements, and apply pesticides following label instructions, adhering to state and federal regulations.
    • Maintain accurate written and electronic records of pesticide applications.
    • Promptly and courteously respond to customer service requests, addressing inquiries and concerns while providing accurate information.
    • Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of company vehicles, reporting accidents, damages, or malfunctions promptly.
    • Perform basic equipment maintenance and fuel mixing following approved procedures to ensure equipment operates correctly.
    • Attend and actively participate in scheduled training sessions.

    Wages, Benefits, and Hours:

    • Starting pay at $40,000 per year plus additional performance-based compensation and commission opportunities available.
