    Job Purpose


    To manage and develop our organization-wide planning and performance processes, improving organizational capabilities and ensuring alignment with our organization strategy and measurement of our progress against business and workforce goals. The ability to create a strong performance framework with a focus on Technology Business Management while also focusing on our team's ability to exceed expectations with training and employee engagement programs.

    This role requires an outstanding leader, clear communicator, and progressive thinker to assume responsibility for developing, implementing, and executing new/enhanced business process and solutions to ensure that DPIT runs efficiently. The Head of DPIT Performance & Workforce Planning will play pivotal role in shaping the strategic agenda as it relates to performance, employee engagement, organization, and workforce strategy. They will be responsible for the workforce and employee engagement & communications for global functions across the Digital Platforms & Infrastructure Technology organization.

    Key partnerships include Finance, Executive management, IT Strategy and Human Resources.

    Key Accountabilities


    Performance & Planning: Lead all performance & planning activities for DPIT, in alignment with the Strategy & Results Management (SRM) office.

    • Build a proactive culture of quality and excellence.
    • Ensure performance contracts and commitments are aligned with IT&D and DPIT's strategic priorities, goals and objectives.
    • Drive continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency, deliver superior results and unlock organizational capacity.
    • Ensure that MBRs and all other executive reports are completed on time and to a high level of quality.
    • Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization.
    • Develop models that help with decision-making.
    • Continually seek out reactive behaviors and ensure they don't repeat.
    • Facilitating Technology-wide events both leading up to and during live delivery, including collaborating with stakeholders at all management levels; coordinating supporting teams; pulling together content; providing guidance to presenting teams; executing run-of-show; and staying on top of details every step of the way.
    • Pursuing creative solutions to complex problems, ideating and providing strategic solutions to enable our teams to be successful.

    Engagement & Communications: Develop and execute communication strategies to keep internal stakeholders informed about DPIT initiatives and achievements. Create and execute a best-in-class communication plan for DPIT.

    • Lead the DPIT Grid:voice engagement, including planning for engagement, driving task force development, action planning and metric tracking.
    • Create and manage a comprehensive training program that will position DPIT as a departmental leader in increasing the skills and ability of its teams.
    • Manage the DPIT Graduate Program ensuing all graduates have appropriate and high value secondments.
    • Manage programs related to Technology-wide employee engagement events and initiatives, both ad-hoc and recurring.
    • Coordinate and create DPIT Newsletters and Teams channel content.
    • Monitor and enable onboarding of new employees.
    • Create compelling and impactful presentations, speaking points and executive summaries for the CTO and DPIT Leadership team to deliver at various internal and external events, conferences, and board meetings.
    • Facilitate, plan, and run executive and all employee meetings for DPIT.
    • Create communications that engage the internal organization.

    Workforce Strategy & Organizational Change Management (OCM): Relentlessly identify opportunities to improve organization and people change management across DPIT. Serve as a liaison for OCM with the SRM team.

    • Partner with SRM to ensure OCM practices are embedded in work with direct support for large transformational work with high degree of impacts to stakeholders.
    • Partner with HR to ensure there is line of sight into DPIT's forecasted need to establish appropriate talent acquisition and retention strategies.
    • Ensure roster quality to adequately meet forecasted workload demand.
    • Support business strategic decisions by providing meaningful and accurate data analysis about demand and workforce needs.
    • Support departmental staffing plans and ensure alignment with annual targets.
    • Coordinate with Finance leadership on forecasted headcount changes.
    • Provide thought-leadership in partnership with HR and business leaders to proactively
    • identify the critical workforce requirements necessary to execute strategic
    • business plans.
    • Develop and implement an overall strategic workforce planning roadmap which effectively
    • aligns industry best practices with the current talent position.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert for all workforce planning activities across the enterprise. Continuously assess existing workforce plans to ensure practical business alignment and exhibit the ability to lead cross-functional teams in the design of alternative approaches.
    • Lead and facilitate workforce planning initiatives including, but not limited to, critical role/capability identification, environmental scanning, gap analysis, risk analysis, and action planning.

    Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

    • 7+ years in progressive leadership roles and a significant amount of experience of leading portfolios with financial focus
    • Experience driving transformation initiatives with strong change management focus
    • Passion for National Grid employees and enabling their success
    • Ability to balance meeting immediate service delivery needs while transforming an organisation to new ways of work, enabling new services
    • Experience working in an international multi-vendor ecosystem
    • Ability to work well within matrix organizations and have a successful track record of implementing significant change
    • High resilience and stamina, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical skills, well considered opinions and outstanding communication skills

    • Strong interest in and orientation towards developing talent and building highly functional teams

    Qualifications

    • BS in a relevant discipline or, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • Strong management skills and a track record of delivering multiple, complex initiatives involving numerous customers, interests, and goals, on-time and on-budget.
    • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail required

    Salary

    Brooklyn, NY $190,000 - $224,000 a year

    Waltham, MA $178,000 - $209,000 a year

    This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
