Role Overview:

DICK'S Sporting Goods is in search of a dedicated, people-oriented store leader to supervise the operations within their store section.

The Assistant Store Manager will be accountable for upholding the highest standards of brand and operational excellence across the store, ensuring that our team delivers seamless and engaging customer service to all visitors. They focus on coaching, developing, and supporting the well-being of team members while actively engaging with financial metrics, store performance, and both short and long-term planning.

Manages the day-to-day operations of their store department.
Plans and organizes operational tasks in the short and long term, under the direction of the Store Manager.
Participates in community recruitment efforts and encourages team members to contribute to community initiatives.
Collaborates with store leadership to recruit a diverse and cohesive team, as well as to oversee workforce planning (including payroll and scheduling).
Ensures team compliance with operational standards, brand guidelines, customer service protocols, and company policies.
Enhances shrink results by adhering to safety, loss prevention, and cash-handling procedures.
Fosters transparent communication and creates an engaging environment for the team through innovative methods.
Demonstrates a passion for coaching and professional development, integrating learning into daily leadership practices.
Establishes an inclusive store environment where everyone - team members and customers alike - feels valued, welcomed, and respected.

Requirements:

1-3 years of experience in retail management or customer-focused roles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
