    Oncology Consultants is looking for a retail pharmacy technician to join our in-house specialty pharmacy team at OCRX Pharmacy Solutions in Katy, Texas. Oncology Consultants has been a premier adult medical oncology & hematology practice in Houston, TX, for over 40 years.     About the Position

    "Oncology Consultants is looking for a clinical pharmacist to join our specialty pharmacy team at OCRX Pharmacy Solutions. You will work in a multidisciplinary practice alongside oncologists, nurse practitioners, and nurses to provide quality cancer care through our in-house specialty pharmacy.

    Shift Schedule:
    • Mon - Fri: 7am -6pm (Depending on Shift)

    Responsibilities:
    • Dispense and distribute drugs and medicines for patients and advise them of the correct medicine, proper usage, and compliance.
    • Advise physicians and nurses on the inherent dangers of drugs and the eventual side effects and assist them in prescribing the correct doses.
    • Provide clinical drug information and education to providers and staff regarding using pharmaceutical products and treatment regimens appropriately.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient's side effects and drug interactions.
    • Answers and initiates phone calls related to providing pharmaceutical care.
    • Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of the pharmacy and delivery operations.
    • Strives to achieve cost-effectiveness in all areas (including purchasing/inventory control, staffing delivery services).
    • Regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-6 pm. On-call on a rotation as scheduled.
    • Review Medication Therapy Management
    • Review patient vaccination history and vaccinate patient
    • Utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
    • Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
    • Assist with cash transactions with patients
    • Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist,
    • Assists with inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
    • Provide as a liaison between patient, pharmacy, and physician office in order to insure patient are compliant and adhering to treatments
    • Communication to pharmacy and clinical staff concerning prescriptions dispensed, shipping, and refill authorizations to insure timely dispensing of medication to patient

    Position Qualifications and Requirements :
    • Pharm.D. Degree from an accredited college/university, such as a pharmacy school.
    • Current, unencumbered State license to practice as a registered pharmacist.
    • Two Years of experience in recent retail experience
    • Knowledge of retail pharmacy programs required
    • 2 years of retail experience required
    • Bilingual required
    • Prior Auth, Specialty, MTM, Mail Order experience preferred
    • Type 50 WPM required
    • Graduate from High School or GED Equivalency required.
    • College Diploma preferred
    • Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) is required
    Preferred:
    • At least 1 year of Managed Care/Specialty Pharmacy preferred
    • Bilingual preferred
    • Experience with working in a multidisciplinary tea
