- Follows departmental workflows for utilization review activities, including admission reviews, denials, and communication with insurance companies.
- Evaluates medical records for admissions to ensure documentation requirements are met.
- Reviews inpatient charts for admission appropriateness based on clinical criteria.
- Participates in committees, identifying and referring quality issues for review.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to support length of stay reduction goals.
- Maintains competencies and completes training in relevant platforms.
- BSN or in progress degree required. Effective decision-making and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Familiarity with hospital and community resources.
- NJ State RN License and Health Care Life Support Certification required.
- Care Management certification within 1 year.
