    Job Description

    The Customer Reliability Engineer Intern will learn critical knowledge needed to effectively represent the company at an in-plant site as a Customer Reliability Engineer.

    The role is designed to give a Mechanical Engineer student exposure to John Crane mechanical seals and related products through hands-on work.

    This is accomplished by working rotations in the Inspection/Repair, Maintenance, Assembly, and Engineering/Sales Departments.
    This is a part-time year-around role with flexible hours based on school schedule

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Inspect, disassemble, and clean mechanical seal parts.
    Review part print drawings and make judgements on parts reparability.
    Lap mechanical seal faces to design tolerances.
    Assemble mechanical seals, pressure test, and prepare for shipment.
    Conduct mechanical seal failure analysis and failure root cause analysis.
    Assist Sales Team with field needs and customer inside support.
    Work with branch and regional engineering team for customer process application review.
    Work with Reliability Engineers to run calculations over new and existing seal designs.
    Communicate with stakeholders at various levels and disciplines.

    The Individual
    Currently enrolled in an accredited university-level Mechanical Engineering Program having completed at least two years in the program.
    Must be in good academic standing
    Mechanical aptitude; willing to work in a production/manufacturing environment.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    Some CAD experience; solid modelling a plus.
    Effective written and spoken communication skills.
    Must be able to read, write, and speak English, bilingual is a plus.
    Experience working with a diverse group is a plus.
    Salary & Benefits

    The pay range for this role is $23.00-$30.00 per hour based on level of experience.
