    Our location in Houston, TX, currently has an opportunity for a Shipping/Receiving Technician I

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Primary Job Function

    Performs manual and clerical duties, which may utilize computers, in the movement of materials. Typically involves the filling of consumption bins, cycle counting, faxing for materials and follow-up with vendors / buyers

    Core Job Responsibilities

    Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

    Duties include but are not limited to;


    •Pulls finished goods parts from bins using a pick list and possibly radio-frequency device (e.g., identifying the specific part number, lot number, quantity and location of all items on an order) to fill the customer orders.


    • Enters orders into computer database using a bar code scanner to scan the order number on the pick sheet.


    • Packages orders to include pick list from the box, and filling in open spaces and packs materials according to specifications or knowledge of shipping practices to prepare the package for labeling and distribution to the customer.


    • Types pertinent information into Fed Ex computer or equivalent (e.g., customer number, method of shipment) to generate a printed label to be used for product shipment.


    • Examines shipment containers at the time of delivery for any damage, and verifies the accuracy of information listed on the packing slips, invoices, and freight bills by opening the packages and visually inspecting the contents in order to ensure accurate deliveries.


    • Enters material information (e.g., P.O. number) into the business computer system and generate receipt travelers to provide material traceability.


    • Transports material (e.g., production and non-production materials) upon request, using a fork-lift, pallet jack, or truck to the designated location.

    (Planning/Organization)prioritize daily tasks to meet material demands, and maintain a neat and orderly workplace.

    (Decision Making/Impact) Solves problems of a limited scope and complexity with direction from lead or co-workers. Accurate in counting /reconciling quantities. General supervision. Receives detailed instruction on assignments.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:

    Minimum Education

    H.S diploma or equivalent plus 0-3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination. Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.

    Minimum Experience / Training Required

    Working knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel, and outlook)

    Will perform tasks in a quality system environment which can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.

    The base pay for this position is $12.75 – $25.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
