    Job Title: Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Coordinator

    The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Coordinator at Children's National Medical Center plays a crucial role in ensuring that all residency and fellowship programs comply with accreditation and regulatory standards. By maintaining accurate data and reports, this position helps mitigate risks and enhances financial benefits for the institution. The coordinator collaborates with program directors, administrative staff, and trainees to guarantee compliance and optimize operational performance.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
    • Master's Degree (Preferred)
    • 2 years' Experience working in Medical Education at the program level or within the GME office (Required)
    • 4 years' Experience working in Medical Education at the program level or within the GME office (Preferred)

    Required Skills/Knowledge:
    - Excellent oral and written communication skills
    - Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving abilities
    - Ability to work effectively in team environments
    - Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Functional Accountabilities
    • Contribute to the strategic plan for GME, setting short and long-term goals
    • Collect and analyze customer feedback to enhance program effectiveness
    • Identify and address challenges, escalating issues when necessary
    • Collaborate with managers to implement performance improvement plans
    • Engage stakeholders and drive commitment to organizational changes
    • Manage assigned programs and organize educational meetings for program administrators

    Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance
    • Maintain knowledge of relevant governing bodies for GME
    • Regularly meet with program directors and administrators
    • Ensure policies and procedures are updated and documented accordingly
    • Monitor evaluations, work hours, and compliance documentation
    • Participate in program reviews and site visits
    • Facilitate communication and paperwork for incoming and outgoing rotations

    Onboarding New Trainees
    • Process trainee terminations and promotions
    • Coordinate application and documentation for incoming trainees
    • Ensure compliance with licensing, visas, and training requirements
    • Verify and maintain essential trainee information in relevant systems

    Orientation of New Trainees (Residents and Fellows)
    • Plan and execute GME orientation programs
    • Communicate effectively with new trainees
    • Verify completion of necessary training and enrollment processes
    • Support annual graduation activities as needed

    Rotating Resident Program Support
    • Manage onboarding process for rotating residents
    • Ensure compliance with licensing and health requirements
    • Coordinate access to facilities and resources for incoming rotators
    • Provide necessary support and guidance to rotating trainees

    Documenting Trainee Schedules for ACGME and Government Reports
    • Review and maintain accurate trainee schedules
    • Assist in making corrections for regulatory reports
