    Position Summary: (Summarize the essential functions of the job.)

    The New York Foundling is the city's premiere provider of evidence based mental health services in the public sector. The Department of Specialized Clinical and Psychiatric Services consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and administrators working within our five clinics and utilizing models including Trauma-Focused CBT, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Trauma Systems Therapy, CBT for anxiety and depression, and specialized individual and family therapy for LGBTQIA+ clients, among others. We work in multidisciplinary teams with low caseloads, high support, and data-driven operations.

    The SCPS Clinical Psychotherapist (Bronx) is responsible for the implementation of Trauma Informed treatment from a socio-ecological perspective of care for children in foster care and their bio parents or permanency resources across the borough. The Clinical Psychotherapist is responsible for the tracking of mental health services. Training in Trauma Systems Therapy and other evidenced based treatment models is included as well as clinical supervision hours required to obtain clinical license.


    ***UP TO $2,000 SIGN ON INCENTIVE***

    • Provide trauma-based treatment (TST) to youth and families (within their system of care) who are involved with a child serving service system.
    • Collaborate with In-Home Therapist on a daily basis in order to meet the goals, objectives and strategies/action tasks to meet fidelity of treatment model.
    • Engage in crisis intervention when necessary
    • Participate in Clinical Planning Conferences, Treatment Team Meetings, case reviews and other conferences to ensure continuity of care.
    • Document all service provisions as required.
    • Participate in department staff meetings and quality improvement effort.
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Participate in weekly supervision meetings with Supervisor/ Project Director

    Salary Range: $63,750-$72,250/year

    • Masters in social work, counseling or a similar field required. Limited Permit/ Professional License required upon job acceptance.
    • Bi-Lingual preferred (Spanish/ English)

    Master's Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
