    Description
    The role of this position is to intermediate level aircraft mechanical duties.
    Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

    Typical work assignments at the WG-8 full performance level include:

    Assembling, installing, and replacing aircraft mechanical components, parts, and accessories.
    Making simple repairs and adjustments.
    Participating in fuel/defuel operations.
    Moving aircraft.
    Running engines and auxiliary power units.
    Cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies of the trade.
    Trains employees with lesser skills in aircraft mechanical duties.

    At the WG-5 level, the incumbent will perform less complex duties under closer supervision.
