We are an Arizona-based startup building software to automate bookkeeping and tax for small businesses. This wasnt always our plan. When we started Uplinq, we wanted to help small businesses use their financial data to make timely business decisions, survive loan due diligence, and work with

acquirers/investors.

We tried solving these challenges directly to no avail and quickly realized they are all symptoms of a bigger problem: bookkeeping is hard, and SMBs hate doing it.

Since then weve been hard at work developing accounting technology for small businesses that is high-quality, real-time, and affordable. Our customers are dentists, restaurant owners, insurance agents, realtors - real people from all walks of life. Some tried to manage their books in QBO themselves and couldnt keep up. Some paid a CPA firm too much for bookkeeping that only gets updated once a quarter. Some switched from companies like Bench and Pilot looking for better service.

We are a tight-knit team including CPAs, engineers, tax preparers, product designers, and marketers.

About the Role

Our accounting team is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our bookkeeping operations, focusing on our AI-driven bookkeeping and tax products.

This role involves managing comprehensive accounting tasks and ensuring seamless operations through close interactions with both internal stakeholders and clients.

Our ideal candidate:
has substantial experience in handling bookkeeping tasks, including categorization, job costing, reconciliation, etc.

is adept at full-charge bookkeeping and using advanced accounting tools and systems such as, POS system (setup), QuickBooks Online (QBO) integration, and accounts receivable/payable work.

has 3-5 years in both cash and accrual based accounting, with a preference for those with multi-client experience. Expertise in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and U.S. GAAP compliance is essential.
supports company onboardings, regular reviews, month-end close, year-end close process, and other critical client lifecycle events.
possesses strong communication skills to interact with clients, answer questions, gather information, and explain bookkeeping data clearly.
is eager to drive continuous improvement in Uplinqs automated bookkeeping systems and contribute to our business intelligence solutions.
preferably has a Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related fields.
