    Job Description:


    The Dealer Finance Distribution Manager is responsible for consumer and dealer finance business development, customer retention and other activities with responsibility for achieving sales, retention and budget goals.

    The job may manage both retail financing of individual Customer transactions through automobile and other dealers as well as large-scale wholesale transactions financing dealer car and other inventories.

    The job also manages a multiple state environment to include a sales staff and may include the most complex relationship in the portfolio.


    Depth & Scope:

    • Oversees distribution of all retail, remarketing, commercial and TD Banking products for an assigned region
    • Manages Dealer Finance Distribution Officers assigned to region
    • Ensures each active dealer in their portfolio remains profitable to the Bank
    • Oversees a large region/territory
    • Manages staff, establishing new business goals and evaluating results; provides leadership, coaching, counseling and guidance to staff. Develops sales strategy, goals and objectives in coordination with department management Develops, assigns and monitors plans to ensure completion of goals and objectives
    • Ensures that sales staff maintains network of outside and internal referral sources, including individuals and organizations likely to produce referrals; ensures that strong business relationships are maintained with these referral sources and that they have current information on relevant products and services
    • Coordinates sales staff involvement in credit decisions, including automated indirect, custom indirect or dealer finance team lending decision process; Coordinates with credit, processing and other department staff to facilitate credit decisions, provide information and ensure good service; Coordinates sales staff involvement with department management and credit area to contribute and provide input to dealer finance lending decisions through credit and commercial department group loan decision processes based on evaluation of credit risk and other key factors
    • Prepares regular and customized in-depth reports and information summarizing department activities to provide feedback to staff as well as department management. Interprets important aspects of reports as needed
    • Oversees portfolio risk management, the advising of credit area on potential risks and collection activities as needed
    • Develops and maintains salary budget
    • Manages sales development efforts, approves sales goals, and policies that will ensure annual revenue and profitability goals are met. Evaluates results on an ongoing basis to ensure sales efforts remain on budget
    • Manages consumer indirect and dealer finance business development, Customer retention and other activities in a large region which may be national in scope with responsibility for achieving sales, retention and budget goals according to applicable Company policies and legal and regulatory guidelines

    Education & Experience:

    • 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience
    • 10 Years of related experience
    • Strong knowledge of dealer financial services industry practices and of the automotive industry in general, including retail as well as wholesale financing and related legal and regulatory guidelines
    • Strong managerial development skills
    • Excellent business development skills, including ability to formulate strategies to achieve sales goals
    • Strong market presence with car dealers and wide network of outside referral sources for new business
    • Experience structuring multi-million dollar financing arrangements
    • Sales management experience required, with ability to motivate other salespeople
    • General knowledge of banking industry products and services required
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. PC skills
