    Summary:

    • The tax team at Neuberger Berman is involved in all aspects of the firm's global operations, including advice on fund structures and equity plans tax matters. The ideal candidate will work side by side with other members of the global Finance and Tax teams in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of various tax reporting elements servicing a wide range of stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:


    The ideal candidate will be responsible for global tax accounting and reporting matters related to Neuberger Berman's global operating entities (a combination of partnerships, LLCs, domestic corporations and controlled foreign corporations).

    This includes direct responsibility for US tax matters, including NYC UBT calculations, modeling and analysis on tax planning, oversight of the global tax accounting model, and monitoring the adherence to transfer pricing methodologies.


    More specifically:

    • Oversight of US federal, state and local tax returns prepared by external service providers
    • Preparation and/or review of US consolidated taxable income, state apportionment calculations, and international tax forms reporting (5471s, 8858s, PFICs etc.)
    • Manage, communicate and service all tax aspects of the Neuberger Berman equity program, including quarterly tax distribution forecasts, review of K-1s, member statements, employee liquidity & retirement and the annual equity offering
    • Supervise the global tax provision process, including tax footnote disclosures in quarterly and year-end consolidated and standalone financial statements.
    • Manage quarterly US estimated tax payments.
    • Liaise with external auditors, examiners, fund administrators and third party service providers.
    • Administer US tax authority audits and information requests.
    • Supervise non-income tax filings and/or indirect tax reporting.
    • Develop presentations on tax operation results and communicate to various audiences.
    • Research and model tax implications of corporate tax matters and tax regulatory changes.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of tax experience. Combination of private and public ("big 4") experience is preferred.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA is highly preferred.
    • Strong tax technical knowledge of Corporate and Partnership taxation in the area of asset management.
    • Funds (PE, HF, FoF, etc.) tax experience is a plus.
    • Excellent knowledge, and working experience, of tax accounting (ASC 740) preparation and review.
    • Working knowledge of US tax implications, and reporting obligations, of foreign operations is preferred.
    • Good modeling skills to quantify the effects of tax planning proposals and/or changes in circumstances and tax laws.
    • Self-starter, a problem solver that can think outside the box
    • Willingness to "roll-up" sleeves in a fast paced environment
    • Detail oriented with a strong focus on analytics
    • Good communicator that can work independently and also be a team player
    • Ability to train and develop others in tax matters
    Compensation Details

    The salary range for this role is $110,000-$145,000.

    This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.

    We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.

    This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City.

    An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

    This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
