Job Description and Duties

The CalSTRS Pension Solution Division needs a motivated individual to join as a Financial Accountant II on the Business Team.

The Pension Solution project aims to replace CalSTRS' legacy pension administration system, START. START is the custom-built system managing the State Teachers' Retirement Plan. The new Pension Solution will encompass various functions including contribution reporting, member maintenance, benefit processing, and more.

Experienced in financial and pension operational processes
Knowledge of project management methodologies and business process reengineering
Strong communicator and leader
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
Skilled in problem-solving and creative solutions
Efficient time management and task completion

An increment of 5% salary per year based on performance is applicable until reaching the maximum.

Telework options include a hybrid model with 2-3 days in the West Sacramento office.

Working Conditions

All CalSTRS staff are California State employees and remote work location is required.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Special Requirements

Interested candidates must submit a Statement of Qualifications in addition to the application. The SOQ replaces the initial interview.

Financial Accountant II Exam required

Background investigation mandatory before employment.

CalSTRS Disclosure Requirements

This position may require disclosures related to economic conflict of interest.
