    Take your organizational skills outdoors and become part of the Girl Scouts Camp Staff this summer While the sun shines in the sky, you can create lifelong connections, valuable experiences and be a positive influence.

    Where you will work:

    Choose from one of our two beautiful Julian properties and join us in leading unforgettable adventures in the great outdoors.

    Camp Winacka - A traditional rustic camp with spectacular views. The camp features a pool, miles of hiking trails, green building including a new environmental center and two lakes. Campers choose from programs focusing on aquatics, horses, arts and adventure. Campers and staff sleep in open-air cabins with built-in bunk beds, in platform tents with bunk beds or on cots under the stars.

    Camp Whispering Oaks - Features a sports field and basketball court tucked amongst oak and pine trees, unique stargazing venues, abundant wildlife and a small, close-knit camp community. Campers choose from programs focusing on science and space, outdoor skills, sports, theater and the arts. Campers and staff sleep in fully enclosed indoor cabins with electricity and paved, lighted pathways winding through native manzanita, oak and pine trees.

    Your summer will look like this:

    As the Sleepaway Camp Operations Specialist, you will support and assist with e-camp systems and all facets of camp programming to create a fun camp experience for campers.

    • Purchase/review camp supplies to include coordination of regular session shopping trips and places orders for supplies with approved vendors
    • Assist the Photography & Social Media Specialist as needed with daily camper blog; taking and uploading camper photos; printing parent e-mails and distributing; and overall management of e-camp software
    • Assist staff in moving from one assigned unit to another
    • Deliver materials, food, and supplies to units and out based activities
    • Inspect, repair and store camp equipment/vehicles as needed
    • Coordinate and participate in delivery of luggage on change days
    • Transport campers and staff as needed
    • Assist with food service, dishwashing, and cleaning, as assigned
    • Oversee delivery and retrieval of U.S. mail and electronic mail for campers and staff
    • Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with all internal and external clients
    • Observe all safety precautions and complies with all council health and safety rules and procedures
    • Serve as a lead facilitator of archery, challenge course, or other specialized activity areas as assigned
    • Supervise inventory of miscellaneous program supplies including camping equipment, t-shirts and patches and office supplies
    • Perform other duties, as assigned

    Here's what it takes:

    • Must be 21 years of age.
    • Must be able to obtain current First Aid/CPR/AED certification by first day of campers' arrival.
    • Attends staff meetings.
    • Attends staff and in-service training during the summer.
    • Ability to interact with all age levels.
    • Valid drivers' license, proof of insurance and/or access to reliable transportation. Daily and/or occasional travel may be required.
