    ABOUT THE POSTION:


    The Production Leadman oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely delivery of materials, products, and services to Triple-S Steel customers in their territory.

    This role serves as a backup for the Production Supervisor and provides vital support to the Operations team, frequently assisting in warehouse operations as a Material Handler.

    Responsibilities:
    Always follow Triple-S safe methods of work and immediately advise the supervisor of any unsafe conditions.


    Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane, or other equipment.


    Assist the Production Supervisor in assigning warehouse personnel to appropriate work areas throughout the working day to meet deadlines for all processes.

    Effectively utilizing Invex and professional level Microsoft Excel ability to create and publish daily production plans.

    Provide updates on production plan as requested.

    Communicate any warehouse issues to management.

    Ensure general cleanliness of the warehouse and work areas.

    Assist with safety duties and participate in continuous improvement and monthly safety meetings.

    Back up warehouse Supervisors, Production, and Admin departments.


    Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 40 pounds for distances of up to 25 feet to heights of 5 feet.


    Engage in activities such as reaching, squatting, standing, walking up to 5 miles per day, climbing stairs, ladders, and equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment as necessary.

    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:
    Minimum 2-3 years of prior warehouse experience and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a distribution center.

    Familiarity with industrial services or distribution operations preferred.


    Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
    Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Invex, SAP, Red Prairie, or other WMS-ERP is a plus.

    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

    Highly organized individual with a commitment to consistent attention to detail.

    Flexibility and adaptability to assume additional responsibilities and accommodate customer requests

    Ability to work independently, often under pressure/situations within a team environment.

    Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to perform a variety of tasks.

    Ability to build business relationships and collaborate effectively.

    Physical Requirements:
    Use hands/fingers to handle or feel and talk or hear.

    Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

    Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Working Conditions:
    Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

    Moderate noise level in the work environment, occasionally high due to an open office environment.
