Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a clinician with an interest in general Gastroenterology to function within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at VCU Health Tappahannock.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical - Provide clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics at VCU Health Tappahannock; participate in the inpatient management of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
Teaching - Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Research- Triangulation of health disparities-opioid abuse-outcomes in the context of inflammatory bowel disease to develop strategies for community based implementation to improve access and treatment responsiveness.
Required Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Must be facile with diagnostic endoscopy
Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
